How To Get Vietnam Business Visa for Portuguese Citizens in the Covid-19 Period

Portuguese citizens who want to go to Vietnam for business can now apply for a business visa. That’s because the Vietnam Immigration Department has now started accepting visa applications. But take note that they will only issue a visa to those who are coming to Vietnam for necessary purposes. Unfortunately, Portuguese tourists are still not allowed to visit. But if you are a businessman, foreign skilled worker, investor, or expert working on some important projects in Vietnam, you are welcome to visit the country. First, you need to apply for a business visa, which needs to be done by your sponsor company. This is the company that you will be working for in Vietnam or the company that will invite you to the country for business and other important transactions.

Who Can Enter Vietnam In This Covid 19 Season?

Restrictions and Quarantine When Entering Vietnam During Covid 19

To protect its citizens from the deadly Covid-19 virus, Vietnam would like to make sure that all the foreign visitors that are entering the country are free from the virus. Therefore, they have implemented safety precautions that all foreign visitors must follow. Here’s everything that a Portuguese citizen visiting Vietnam during the Covid-19 pandemic should keep in mind.

👉 Before Entry

  • Since you will be asked to undergo a 14-day quarantine upon your arrival, you need to present a confirmed hotel booking for your stay. You can stay at any of the hotels that the government has designated as quarantine facilities. Make sure you present the voucher before you board your flight. Your hotel booking should also include a pre-booked vehicle that will pick you up from the airport and send you directly to your hotel since you won’t be able to take any public transportation.
  • Aside from undergoing quarantine, all visitors will be asked to submit a negative result of a Covid-19 test before boarding. The test must be done at least 3 to 5 days before you fly to Vietnam and must be conducted by a WHO-certified testing laboratory in Portugal. Without a negative test result, you won’t be able to board your flight to Vietnam.
  • Travel insurance is another important requirement for your travel to Vietnam. It will cover the cost of your treatment just in case you will get sick of Covid-19 during your stay in Vietnam. But if you can’t provide the insurance, your sponsor company should agree to pay for the cost of treatment in case you’ll get infected with the Covid-19 virus.

👉 Upon Entry

When you arrive at the Vietnam airport, you will be subjected to a medical evaluation to check if you have any symptoms of the Covid-19 disease. If you’re showing symptoms like fever and cough, you will immediately be isolated from the rest of the passengers. You will be tested for Covid-19 and if you are positive, you’ll be taken to a medical facility where you will be treated. But if you’re negative of the virus, you can proceed immediately to your quarantine facility.

👉 At the Quarantine Facility

When undergoing quarantine, you must abide by the health and safety measures that the local health authorities have imposed for the prevention of Covid-19 spread. This includes avoiding contact with anyone outside of your hotel room. And if you start to develop symptoms, you have to call the local health authorities immediately so you will be isolated and taken to the hospital for treatment.

On your sixth day of the quarantine, you will be tested for Covid-19. If the result is positive, you will be taken to a medical health facility for treatment. Otherwise, you can continue with your quarantine and be tested for Covid-19 on your last day. If you are negative, then you can end your isolation and carry on with your transactions in Vietnam.

Consult with a Local Agency for Assistance

If you need to go to Vietnam these days for some important reasons, but you are not sure how to go about it, you can ask for assistance from a local agency in Vietnam. The agency will help in securing your Vietnam business visa and arranging a hotel for your quarantine. They can also serve as your sponsor company.
