Be Prepared for Higher Costs – The Vietnam Visa Fee is Going Up in 2013

If you are planning a trip to Vietnam in the new year, it is important to be aware of some new fees that will be taking effect soon. Starting in early January of 2013, the Visa stamping fee charged upon arrival in Vietnam will be going up. Whether you are traveling on business or just for fun, it is important to factor these higher fees into your travel budget.

Starting on January 1, 2013, the stamping fee, or immigration fee, for a visa will be going up. That fee is presently set at $25 USD per person for single entry visa. As of January 1, 2013, the new fee for 1 month single entry visa will be $45 USD per person.

The fees charged for multiple entry visas into Vietnam are changing as well. The fee charged for a multiple entry visa is currently $50 USD person either for 1 month or 3 month or 6 month visa validity. That fee structure will be changing, with the amount of the increase dependent on how long would you like to stay in Vietnam. As of January 1, 2013, the fee structure for a multiple entry visa into Vietnam will be as follows:

  • Multiple entry visa for less than one month – $65 USD per person
  • Multiple entry visa valid less than six months – $95 USD per person
  • A traveler who needs a multiple entry visa that is valid for a full six months can expect to see those costs rise as well when the new year rolls around. The cost for this type of entry visa is currently set at $100 USD per person, but as of January 1, 2013 that cost will rise to $135 USD per person.

No matter where your travels take you, it is always wise to be prepared for all the costs of your trip. From big things like the cost of airfare and hotel stays to smaller costs like entry permits and incidentals, being prepared and building a realistic budget will make your trip more fun.
