Guide to Detailed Medical Declaration at Vietnamese Airports

The Covid-19 pandemic has certainly changed the way people travel these days. When you need to travel these days, it’s important that you do your research and find out what the requirements are. If you are going to Vietnam, you will be required to present a medical declaration stating that you are free of Covid-19. This is a very important requirement. Without this, you won’t be allowed to enter the country.

Who Can Enter Vietnam In This Covid 19 Season?

Why Do I Need to Present a Medical Report?

The medical report will certify that you are not carrying the Covid-19 disease. This is Vietnam’s way of protecting its citizens and to ensure that the disease will not spread. Of course, this is also for your own safety as a visitor in the country.

Before you fly to Vietnam, you are required to submit a mandatory electronic medical declaration online. You will find this form on the website of Vietnam’s Ministry of Health. It’s also possible to use the Health Declaration Mobile app, which you can download on your phone. Simply search for “Vietnam Health Declaration” in the app store or in Google Play.

How to Submit The Vietnam Health Declaration

It’s easy to fill out the Vietnam Health Declaration form online. Simply provide all the details that the website will ask from you. You don’t need to enter anything on the seat number. That way, you can fill out the form while you’re still at home or before you board your flight. This is also to avoid congestion at the check-in counter.

It’s very important that you truthfully report your travel itinerary and most especially your current health conditions. That way, the authorities will be able to easily track and contact you in case someone got infected on your flight.

Is the Medical Declaration Report Necessary?

The medical declaration report is necessary now that we are in the middle of a pandemic. It’s even necessary if you came from epidemic zones such as Korea, China, and some countries in Europe. These areas have thousands of infections and death due to Covid-19.

But if you came from areas where there’s a low infection rate, will a medical report be necessary? Yes, it is! That’s because even though you came from an area with no epidemic, there’s a chance that you will get into contact with people coming from several other places during your trip.

The Covid-19 disease is highly contagious. It is for this reason why government authorities around the world are very careful when it comes to allowing people into their country. Even if you came from countries with low infection rates, you could get the virus while you’re on your way to Vietnam. And since some people who get infected with Covid-19 won’t show any symptoms, you cannot be sure if the person sitting next to you on the plane has been infected or not. So to ensure the safety of everyone, please be truthful when you fill out the medical declaration form online.

Medical Declaration at the Airport

Here are the steps for the medical health declaration at the airport:

  1. You will be handed a medical cover declaration upon embarking on the plane. Fill in the information. If you’re not sure about the process or you have any questions, feel free to ask the flight attendant on board.
  2. When you arrive in Vietnam, submit this form to the medical quarantine department. If some information is missing, make sure you add it now.
  3. Next, you will be asked to go through the automatic temperature check door. This is to check your temperature and ensure that you don’t have any symptoms.
  4. Declare information at the counter. For those who came from countries with high infection rates, you may be asked to go on quarantine.
  5. Passengers will then be directed to an isolation area while waiting.
  6. Any passenger who has a positive test result will immediately be treated. Those who are showing symptoms, including those who came from countries with high infection rates, will be asked to go on mandatory quarantine.
