Vietnam e-Visa Requirements and Procedures

Those who need to apply for a Vietnam e-visa should prepare the requirements in advance. First, you need to have your passport, of course. But make sure your passport remains valid for 180 days from your arrival to Vietnam. You will also be asked to upload a scanned copy of the bio page so make sure you have that (Sample for passport’s bio page). Also, you’ll have to submit a digital copies of your passport-sized photo (Photo guide).

It’s also important to have a valid email address since the e-visa will be sent through email. Take note that you’ll be charged for the processing fee. So you need to have a credit card or debit card to pay for this. It’s also possible to pay using PayPal.

The e-visa will be processed for about 3 – 5 business days. You can have it earlier but you’ll pay for additional fees. To avoid any issues, it is advisable to apply for the e-visa at least two weeks before your trip. Once the e-visa is approved, simply upload it and save it on your device. Print it out and bring it to your trip to Ho Chi Minh.
