Despite of applying Vietnam Visa exemption policy for some countries, but Vietnam is still being a hard country for Visa issue in compare with neighboring countries. Therefore, Vietnam government considers extending Vietnam visa waiver to 9 more countries.

The Government has issued Decision No. 99/NQ-CP on visa exemption in a definite period for citizens from the Russian Federation, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland.

A visa exemption agreement for ordinary passport holders signed by the Governments of Vietnam and Myanmar takes effect on October 26, 2013. Under the new rules, citizens of the two countries who hold ordinary passports valid for at least six months beyond the date of arrival will not require visas for stays up to 14 days.
