Vietnam E-visa Application for Citizens of Spain

Traveling to Southeast Asian countries like Vietnam can be quite daunting for foreign tourists who needed a visa. But if you’re a citizen of Spain, you will be happy to know that you are eligible to avail of the e-visa. This is an electronic visa that you can easily obtain online.

Vietnam is blessed with lots of beautiful beaches and amazing historical sights. The local cuisines are delicious and everything in the country is very affordable. If you’re from Spain and you wanted a smooth and hassle-free way of getting a visa to Vietnam, you should consider applying for the e-visa or electronic visa.

Vietnam E-visa Requirements for Spanish Citizens

If you have been traveling for a while, then you knew that applying for a visa would require you to submit certain requirements. This is also the same for the Vietnam e-visa for Spanish citizens. But the requirements are pretty basic. Below are the things you need for your Vietnam e-visa application:

  • Passport – as with any visa application, you are required to submit a passport copy during your e-visa application. It must be valid for at least six months from your expected entry date to the country.
  • Photos – you also need to upload digital copies of your photos. They must be recently taken and should be in a white background. The photos should be in jpeg format. Photo Guide.
  • Payment – since you’re going to apply for the visa online, you are required to pay for the fees online also. When it comes to this, you can pay with card or PayPal. See Vietnam visa fees update.
  • Valid email address – you will receive the status of your e-visa through email so it’s very important that you provide a working email address.

How to Apply for the Vietnam e-Visa?

So you’re probably curious as to how you can apply for a Vietnam e-visa? The process is so easy. In fact, you can finish it in less than 10 minutes. Here’s how you go about it:

  1. Get your laptop or mobile phone, connect to the Internet and open the website of the Vietnam e-visa system.
  2. You will then be asked to fill out a form with your name, birthdate, and everything else. Make sure you enter these details correctly.
  3. Upload a copy of your passport and photo.
  4. If you’re done, proceed to the next page for payment. Provide your card number and wait for confirmation if your payment has been successful. You will also be given a registration code so take note of the code.
  5. Wait for 3 days and you’ll receive an email to inform you about your visa status. You’ll also receive instructions on how to go about downloading the e-visa.
  6. Download copies of the e-visa on your laptop or mobile phone and print a copy. You’ll show this to the officer at passport control in order to be allowed entry to the country.

It will normally take 3 days for the e-visa to be processed. If you haven’t heard from them in 3 days, you should make a follow-up by sending them an email.

Processing Time of the Vietnam e-Visa

Most e-visas to Vietnam are approved in as fast as 3 days. But there are situations where the processing will be delayed, such as during the peak season when millions of foreign visitors will be going to Vietnam. To avoid delays, make sure you provide all the information that’s being asked from you when applying for the e-visa. Double-check everything before you submit.

It is recommended that you apply for your visa at least two weeks before your trip. If you need your Vietnam e-visa urgently, you can choose the rush processing option. But this will cost you more. Instead of $25, you could pay $40 or more. However, the visa will be sent to you in 24 hours or less.

Where Can You Use the E-visa?

The best thing about applying for a Vietnam e-visa is that you can use it at 28 border points all over the country. Aside from using it at the airport, you can also use the e-visa to enter through land borders and seaports. So even if you are traveling to Vietnam by boat, car, or bus, you can use this type of visa.

Take note that the e-visa can be used for both tourism and business purposes. If you need a visa for other purposes, such as for studying or working, you need to visit the embassy of Vietnam in South Korea to apply for the visa. Also, if you plan on staying in the country for the long-term, you can choose the Visa on Arrival, which will let you stay in the country for up to 90 days. This is also a multiple-entry visa so you can enter the country several times with the Visa on Arrival option.
