Citizens of Mexico who are thinking of visiting Vietnam can now enter the country using an electronic visa, also known as the Vietnam e-visa. This was initially offered last February of 2017 and was made available for citizens of more than 40 countries. How to Get your Vietnam E-visa

Of all the Vietnam visas you can apply for, it is the Vietnam e-visa that’s the easiest to avail. Here’s how you can get this visa:

  1. First, go online and access the website where you can apply for the Vietnam e-visa.
  2. Read all the instructions carefully and click on the box that says “Confirm”, if you have understood the instructions. Click on the next page to upload your photo and passport copy.
  3. Provide all the information that is being asked from you, such as your name, birth date, sex, etc. You must also provide details from your passport such as the passport number and expiration date.
  4. Review the information you have provided. Then proceed to the next page if you’re certain that all the details are correct.
  5. Submit the form and wait for a confirmation email. Take note of the verification code.

After 3 -5 business days, you will receive an email regarding the status of your visa. Click on the link and you’ll be taken to a page where you will be asked to provide the registration code in order to download the e-visa copy. Fly to Vietnam and give your passport and show your  e-visa to the immigration officer.

For Mexican visitors to Vietnam, the cost of the e-visa processing is $25 if applying your e-visa through  the government website https://xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn. Also, the processing fee will not be refunded back to you in case your visa is rejected.

It will usually take 3 -5 business days for the visa to be processed. But there are instances when the processing will be delayed.

Important Things About the E-visa

Here are some important things to keep in mind when applying for the Vietnam e-visa:

  • Take note that the e-visa is only valid for one entry and you can only stay in Vietnam for a maximum of 30 days with this visa. If you plan on staying in Vietnam for more than 30 days, choose the Visa on Arrival instead.
  • Review the information you have entered very carefully. If you end up typing in the wrong info, your visa could be denied. Remember that the e-visa fees can no longer be refunded back to you when your visa is rejected. If you have realized after submitting the form that some details are not correct, send them an email as soon as possible.

  • Group application of e-visa is not permitted. Each and every individual visitor must have his or her own e-visa, including children who already have their own visa.
  • Apply your Vietnam e-visa at least two weeks prior to your trip. That way, there will be enough time for your visa to be processed. This is to also avoid paying the fees for the rush processing of your visa.
