Where Do You Get Vietnam Visa?

If you’re not included on the list of nationalities that are exempted from getting a visa, then you need to apply for a Vietnam visa. But where do you get Vietnam visa? This will actually depend on the type of visa that you will need. If you are visiting Vietnam as a tourist, then you need to get a Vietnam tourist visa.

You will have two options when it comes to your Vietnam tourist visa:

1. Apply Online – if you are eligible for the Vietnam e-visa, all you need to do is to go online and apply for a Vietnam visa. Fill out the online application form and submit a copy of your passport and photo. After 5 – 7 business days, you will receive a reply through your email. If your application is approved, you’ll get your visa copy and you just need to print it and bring it to Vietnam.

2. Apply through an Embassy – if you’re not qualified to get the Vietnam e-visa, your only option is to apply directly through a Vietnam embassy. You can send your application in person or through the mail if you live far from the embassy. If your visa is approved, they will attach it to your passport and you can now fly to Vietnam.

The Vietnam e-visa is only good for single entry and the maximum stay is 30 days. So if you need to stay longer in Vietnam, you can choose to apply for the Visa on Arrival. If you will apply for the Visa on Arrival, you can select multiple entries and stay up to a maximum stay of 60 days.

What Requirements Are Needed to Get Vietnam Visa

The requirements for a Vietnam visa will vary depending on the type of visa that you wish to apply. But generally, the requirements needed are the following:

  • Passport – you need to submit the original copy of your passport. It should be valid for at least six months from your entry date into the country. If you will get Vietnam visa online, you will be asked to submit a scanned copy of the passport’s bio page.
  • Photos – you will be required to submit your recent photos. These are passport-sized photos that show your face clearly. For online applications, you need to upload a digital copy of these photos.

For foreigners applying for a business visa, additional requirements might be needed from you aside from the passport and photos. Take note that you also need to pay for the visa processing fees. If you’re applying online, you can pay with your card. But for embassy applications, you can pay with cash. Foreign tourists who have chosen to apply for the Visa on Arrival will also be charged for the processing fee online plus the stamping fee on arrival at the airport.
