What Are the Requirements needed for the Vietnam e-Visa Application?

Aside from the fact that applying for the e-visa is so easy, the requirements needed are easy to obtain as well. So here are the requirements that you need to prepare:

• Passport – you must have your passport available during your application. The passport must be good for at least six months from your date of entry. It’s important that you have a scanned copy of the passport’s biographical page since you will upload this during your application.
• Application form – when you apply for the e-visa online, you need to fill out the form with your name and other important details. You’ll also be asked to provide some information from your passport so you need to have this ready. • Email address – applicants are required to provide a valid email address during their application. Remember, the visa will be sent through email once approved.

The standard processing time of the e-visa is 3 business days. But you can also request for a rush processing if you need it very urgently. Here are the processing times:

• Standard– this will take up to 3 business days.
• Rush – this will be processed within a day only.
• Super rush – your visa will be ready in as early as 8 hours.

For rush and super rush processing, you can expect to pay around $40 to $50. The standard processing fee will only cost you around $25. Remember that the processing fee is not refundable so even if your e-visa is rejected, you cannot request a refund.

Important Things To Know About the e-Visa

Remember that the Vietnam e-visa will let you stay in the country for a maximum of 30 days or one month. It’s possible to request a visa extension but you’ll have to look for an agency that can re-apply for the visa on your behalf. Of course, this comes with a fee.

If you are planning to stay in Vietnam for more than 30 days, the Visa on Arrival might be a better option for you. With this visa, you can stay up to 60 days and enter the country several times within the period since it’s a multiple-entry visa.

When you enter Vietnam, head to the Passport Control counter and give your e-visa copy and passport. If you’re traveling with your child, he or she must have a separate e-visa, unless you share your passport with your child.
