Vietnam reopen visa application (e-visa & visa on arrival) for citizens of Lithuania starting from March 15, 2022

Because of the rapid spread of coronavirus in March 2020, leaders of different nations have to implement drastic measures in order to protect its people from this deadly virus, also known as the Covid 19. Vietnam, for instance, has to impose travel restrictions by closing its borders, canceling flights, and suspending visa issuance. Thus, all foreign visitors, including citizens of Lithuania, have to postpone their holidays to Vietnam.

But the good news is that the government of Vietnam is once again issuing visas to foreign visitors. So if you’re from Lithuania and you’re thinking of traveling to Vietnam soon, it’s time to apply for your visa. Lithuanian citizens are eligible to avail of two types of Vietnam visas, the e-visa, and Visa on Arrival.

Vietnam E-visa for Citizens of Lithuania

The e-visa is perhaps the easiest and fastest Vietnam visa to get. With this visa, you just need to fill out a form online, submit the requirements, and get your visa online as well. Since everything is done online, you don’t need to leave the comforts of your home. What’s more, the e-visa will let you enter in several points of entry, from airports, seaports, and land border checkpoints.

To apply for the Vietnam e-visa for citizens of Lithuania, make sure you’ve got your passport beside you. That’s because most of the information you will enter will come from your passport. You also need to submit a copy of the biographical page. If you don’t have a scanned copy of the page, you can simply take a photo and upload it on the form. It’s very important that the information you entered matches what’s on your passport. Otherwise, you could be denied entry into the country. So double-check everything before submitting the form.

You also need to pay for a $25 processing fee so be ready with your card for this. If you want to pay with PayPal, you can also do so. After your payment is received, you’ll receive a confirmation on your email that your visa application has been received. Take note of the application code that will be given to you because you will need it later in claiming your e-visa.

Vietnam Visa on Arrival for Citizens of Lithuania

Another type of visa that Lithuanian citizens can avail of is the visa on arrival. With this visa, a visa sticker will be stamped on your passport when you arrive at the airport. But before flying to Vietnam, you need to register in advance. Then you will be given a pre-approval letter that you’ll use to claim the visa. During your registration, you will be asked to choose whether you need a single entry or a multiple-entry visa. You also need to choose between 30 days or 60 days validity.

Aside from the pre-approval letter, you’ll also be sent a blank application form. Print the form in advance to save time. Upon arriving in Vietnam, go directly to the Visa Landing counter. Submit the pre-approval letter, application form, photo, and your passport. Then pay for the $25 fee in either US dollar or Vietnam Dong.

Wait for a few minutes while they process your visa. Once they are done, you will be called back to the counter. They will give you your passport, which already has a visa sticker.

Things to Keep In Mind

Remember that the e-visa is only applicable for single entry and a stay of up to 30 days. So if you plan on staying in Vietnam for more than one month, the visa on arrival is what you should get. With this visa, you can choose the multiple entries and stay in the country for up to 60 days. However, since the visa on arrival can only be claimed at the airport, you cannot use this visa if you’re entering through land borders and seaports.

It’s important that you apply for your visa as early as possible. After suspending the visa issuance for a month, the government is expecting to receive a surge of visa applications now that they opened it once again. If possible, apply for your visa about 2 weeks prior to your trip. For those who need it rush, you can pay more and get your visa in as fast as 24 hours!

Lithuanian travelers who need help in passing through the airports of Vietnam should take advantage of the Fast Track Service. If you’ll sign up for this, a representative will meet you at the arrival area. He or she will then assist you in claiming your visa and passing through airport formalities. You will be passing at the Fast Track Lanes that are intended for VIP passengers. Thus, you’d be able to get out of the airport fast and not deal with the crowd.
