Visa Exemption Agreement Between Vietnam – Uruguay

Agreement between the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Government of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay on visa exemption for holders of diplomatic and official passports. The agreement was signed on November 19, 2007, effective from June 15, 2008.

Have agreed on the following:

Article 1

Holders of valid Vietnamese diplomatic and official passports, members of the diplomatic mission, the consular post of Vietnam, or representatives to the international organizations located in Uruguay shall be exempt from the respective visa requirement to enter and stay in Uruguayan territory during the term of their respective missions.

Article 2

Holders of valid Uruguayan diplomatic and official passports, members of the diplomatic mission, the consular post of Uruguay, or representatives to the international organizations located in Vietnam shall be exempt from the respective visa requirement to enter and stay in Vietnamese territory during the term of their respective missions.

Article 3

The provisions referred to in Articles 1 and 2 of this Agreement shall be also applied to members of the family who live with the persons mentioned in Articles 1 and 2 of this Agreement, provided that they are holders of valid diplomatic or official passports.

Article 4

Holders of valid Vietnamese diplomatic and official passports, not accredited in Uruguay, shall be exempt from the visa requirement to enter Uruguayan territory and stay therein during a period not exceeding ninety (90) days, which term may be extended by the Uruguayan Authorities, according to the legal provisions in force.

Holders of valid Uruguayan diplomatic and official passports, not accredited in Vietnam, shall be exempt from the visa requirement to enter Vietnamese territory and stay therein during a period not exceeding ninety (90) days, which term may be extended by the Vietnamese Authorities, according to the legal provisions in force.
