Getting a Visa on Arrival in Vietnam and Exploring Its Beauty

Travelling offers you peace of mind, boosts your confidence, and enhances your creativity. For me, traveling is an instinct that makes us grow spiritually and physically. With the essence of Himachal (India) in my veins, I have always been an admirer of nature’s beauty and love to explore versatile corners of the world. One such astonishing part of the world is Vietnam that has an incredible culture and picturesque landscape.

I got aquatinted with Vietnam culture and tradition through one of my close Viet college mates who was here to accomplish her course in management. I was entirely drawn to her traditional attires, and we instantly became good friends. She often used to talk about her country, traditions, and gorgeous places one must visit. With all her enthusiasm, she acknowledged me about some of the interesting things about Vietnam like:

  • Vietnamese people are the mix of North and East Asian Mongol race with Indian and Chinese influence.
  • The country has rich religion diversity, where Buddhism and Catholicism are the largest established religions.
  • Viet people are in love with Motorbikes. Once you are on Vietnam’s land, you can find motorbikes everywhere.
  • Ho Chi Minh is the hero of the country and recognized as a symbol of liberation after the war.
  • Snake liquor and snake wines are a few of the uncommon drinks that Vietnam people consume for gaining health benefits.
  • Vietnam has the world’s largest natural cave called Hang Son Doong
  • Vietnam is the second-largest coffee producing country.
  • Vietnam has rich flora and fauna where one can find around 16% of the world’s species.
  • Water puppet shows are one of the beautiful heritages one can discover in Vietnam.

Eventually, I got the chance to visit Vietnam this year. However, applying for a Vietnam visa for an Indian was a real struggle. Initially, I tried to get a Vietnam visa through the embassy, yet, it was a time consuming and lengthy process. The procedure required 7 to 10 working days though mail for approval. The procedure was also hectic as I had to look after many details, including a lot of paperwork, sending the documents, visa fee, and prepaid self-addressed return envelope to gain my passport back through the post.

I was in a rush and immediately required a quick and better alternative.

Later my Viet friend suggested me to go for a visa on arrival. At that time, I didn’t know much about visa on arrival and was quite not sure if this will work or not.

Though she assured me that it is a safe and secure way to land in Vietnam quickly, and as she said, I managed to reach and gain my visa on arrival at the international airport in Vietnam real fast. The procedure was super easy and simple.
