One of the most important requirements that you need to have when traveling to Vietnam is a visa. Some travelers may be eligible for a visa-free entry, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Vietnamese authorities have currently suspended this. Therefore, the only way you can enter Vietnam at this time is to apply for a visa.

Those who are arriving through the Chu Lai International Airport can avail of the Vietnam Visa On Arrival. As the name says, this is the type of visa that you can get upon your arrival to the country. This type of visa has been available for tourists since before the pandemic. Here’s what you need to know when applying for a Vietnam visa on arrival via Chu Lai International Airport.

What is a Visa on Arrival?

Visa on Arrival is a type of visa that foreigners will receive upon their arrival at the airport of Vietnam. But before flying to the country, foreign visitors are required to apply for this visa ahead of time. They can send in their application online through a local agency in Vietnam.

Once the visa application is approved, Vietnam Immigration will issue a pre-approval letter. This letter must be printed and shown to the Vietnam Immigration Authorities at the airport in order to be issued the actual visa.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Vietnamese authorities have required all foreign visitors to have a sponsor company that will request an entry permit on their behalf. Without the permit, Vietnam Immigration won’t be able to issue a pre-approval letter.
