Visa Exemption Agreement Between Vietnam – Peru

Agreement between the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Government of the Republic of Peru on visa exemption for holders of diplomatic passports, official passports and special passports. Signed on February 24, 2006, effective from June 2, 2006.

Have agreed as follows:

Article 1

  1. Citizens of either Contracting Party, who are holders of valid diplomatic, official, or special passports, shall not be required to obtain visas to enter, exit, transit through, or stay in the territory of the other Contracting Party for a period not exceeding ninety (90) days.
  2. Upon request in writing from the Diplomatic Mission or Consular Post of one Contracting Party with regard to its citizens who are holders of the passports referred to in paragraph 1 of this Article, the other Contracting Party may extend the duration of stay for these persons.

Article 2

  1. Citizens of either Contracting Party, who are holders of valid diplomatic, official or special passports and are assigned as members of the Diplomatic Mission, a Consular Post or an International Organization in the territory of the other Contracting Party, as well as their family members holding the said passports, shall not be required to obtain visas for entry into, stay in and exit from the territory of the other Contracting Party for the duration of their assignment.
  2. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the receiving country should be informed of the status of the persons referred to in paragraph 1 of this Article in a verbal note before their entry. Within ninety (90) days from the date of entry, these people should complete necessary procedures for registration of stay at the competent authorities of the other Contracting Party.

The government of Vietnam has recently announced a unilateral decision to exempt citizens of Norway from requiring a visa for entry into the country. This new regulation means that Norwegian passport holders can now travel to Vietnam without the need to obtain a visa in advance, for stays of up to 45 days.

Agreement between the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Government of the Kingdom of Oman on visa exemption for holders of diplomatic passports, special passports, and official passports. The agreement was signed on April 28, 2022, effective from January 14, 2023.

Agreement between the Governments of Vietnam and Nicaragua on visa exemption for citizens of both countries. The agreement, which was signed on March 14, 1983, is currently in effect.

Agreement between the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Government of Nepal on visa exemption for holders of diplomatic or official passports. The agreement was signed on May 11, 2019, effective June 25, 2019.
