Visa Exemption Agreement Between Vietnam – Pakistan

Agreement between the Government of Vietnam and the Government of Pakistan on visa exemption for holders of diplomatic and official passports. Agreement signed on January 31, 2007, effective from March 2, 2007:

  • Visa exemption is granted to holders of diplomatic and official passports for a maximum of 90 days. Temporary residence may be extended upon request of diplomatic missions and consulates.
  • Holders of diplomatic passports or official passports who are members of diplomatic missions, consulates, or representative offices of international organizations and their family members (spouses and children under 18 years old) holding diplomatic passports or official passports are exempted from visa requirements during their working term. However, they must register their residence within 90 days from the date of entry.

The government of Vietnam has recently announced a unilateral decision to exempt citizens of Norway from requiring a visa for entry into the country. This new regulation means that Norwegian passport holders can now travel to Vietnam without the need to obtain a visa in advance, for stays of up to 45 days.

The agreement was signed on November 18, 2004, effective from December 19, 2004.

Note: An agreement was signed on November 2, 2023, between Mongolia and Vietnam, which exempts holders of diplomatic, official, and ordinary passports from visa requirements. The agreement was signed by the Mongolian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Battsetseg Batmunkh, and the Vietnamese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bui Thanh Son.
