Vietnam e-visa Via Long Thanh Airport

The Vietnam government is anticipating the influx of tourists to the country in the coming years. Because of this, they are building new airports to accommodate the arrival of foreign visitors. One of the new airports that the Vietnam government is building is the Long Thanh Airport that’s located just outside of Ho Chi Minh City. With this new airport, the government of Vietnam is hoping that the Tan Son Nhat International Airport will be less congested.

So if you’re thinking of visiting Vietnam in the coming years, you may want to consider using this new airport. The good news is that the Long Thanh Airport is one of those airports in Vietnam that will be accepting e-visa for foreign visitors. This visa is an electronic version of the standard Vietnam visa that foreigners can easily apply online.

Using the Vietnam E-Visa in Entering Vietnam

What’s great about the Vietnam e-visa is that you’ll be able to use it at the various airports of Vietnam, including Long Thanh airport. In fact, it can also be used through land borders and seaports. And since you already have a visa, you can breeze through the airport with ease. When you arrive, just go directly to Passport Control. No need to queue at the visa counter.

Compared to other Vietnam visas, the e-visa is definitely the most convenient. You don’t have to go to an embassy to apply. Also, there’s no longer a need to queue at the visa counter unlike when you choose the visa on arrival.

What is Vietnam e-Visa?

The Vietnam e-visa was introduced last February of 2017 in hopes of inviting more foreign visitors to the country. As of now, this visa is available to citizens of more than 80 countries. So if you qualify for this visa and you’re flying to Ho Chi Minh soon, you better apply for this visa online.

The Vietnam e-visa is only good for a single entry and will have a validity of 30 days. You may be able to extend its validity but you’ll have to go through an agency for this. If you need a visa with multiple entries, you might as well choose the visa on arrival.

Vietnam e-Visa Requirements and Procedures

Those who need to apply for a Vietnam e-visa for their flight to Long Thanh airport should prepare the requirements in advance. First, you need to have your passport, of course. But make sure your passport remains valid for thirty days from your arrival to Vietnam. You will also be asked to upload a scanned copy of the bio page so make sure you have that. Also, you’ll have to submit two digital copies of your passport-sized photos.

It’s also important to have a valid email address since the e-visa will be sent through email. Take note that you’ll be charged for the processing fee. So you need to have a credit card or debit card to pay for this. It’s also possible to pay using PayPal.

The e-visa will be processed for about 3 – 5 business days. You can have it earlier but you’ll pay for additional fees. To avoid any issues, it is advisable to apply for the e-visa at least two weeks before your trip. Once the e-visa is approved, simply upload it and save it on your device. Print it out and bring it to your trip to Ho Chi Minh.

Things to Remember Before You Apply for your e-Visa

You are required to fill out an online application form when applying for the e-visa. It’s very important that you fill out the form correctly. Make sure the spelling of your name is correct. It should match what’s on your passport. Otherwise, you could be denied entry into the country. This is why it’s important to review the form before you click on the next page.
