Visa Exemption Agreement Between Vietnam – Chile

Agreement between the Governments of Vietnam and Chile on visa exemptions for holders of diplomatic and official passports. Signed on October 22, 2003, effective from June 25, 2005.

  • Visa exemption is granted to holders of diplomatic and official passports for a maximum of 90 days. Diplomatic missions or consulates can request a 90-day extension of the temporary residence period.
  • Members of diplomatic missions, consulates, international organizations and their family members holding diplomatic or official passports (children’s names included) are exempt from visa requirements throughout their working term.

On October 17, 2016, the Governments of Vietnam and Chile signed an agreement exempting ordinary passport holders from visas. The agreement came into effect on August 11, 2017.

  • Citizens holding ordinary passports from both countries are exempt from obtaining a visa for a maximum period of 90 days from the date of entry. The passport should be valid for at least six months. However, this exemption from visa applies only if the purpose of the entry is not for income-generating activities.
  • Citizens holding ordinary passports from two countries must obtain permission from the receiving country’s competent authority if they plan to stay for more than 90 days, in accordance with the country’s laws and internal regulations.

An agreement signed on December 27, 2017, between the Government of Vietnam and the Government of Cameroon grants visa exemption to diplomatic and official passport holders. The agreement came into effect on December 26, 2019.

Agreement on visa exemption for holders of diplomatic and official passports between Vietnam and Cambodia (signed November 30, 1979, effective immediately) An agreement was signed on November 4, 2008 between the Governments of Vietnam and Cambodia. This agreement was effective from December 5, 2008, and allows for visa exemption for ordinary passport holders.

Agreement between the Governments of Vietnam and Brunei on visa exemption for holders of diplomatic and official passports. This agreement is effective from March 14, 2023, as per the Note sent on February 12, 2023.

On August 26, 2019, an agreement was signed between the Governments of Vietnam and Botswana to exempt visa requirements for diplomatic or official passport holders. The agreement came into effect on October 25, 2019.

On October 25th, 1993, Vietnam and Belarus signed an agreement regarding visa exemption for diplomatic and official passport holders, which became effective on November 24th, 1993. Diplomatic and official passport holders are exempt from visas.
