Visa Exemption Agreement Between Vietnam – Bangladesh

On May 11, 1999, Vietnam and Bangladesh signed an agreement on visa exemption, which came into effect on July 10, 1999.

  • Vietnamese citizens holding diplomatic passports or official passports and Bangladeshi citizens holding diplomatic passports or passports with the “official” stamp are exempted from visa requirements. They are allowed to stay in the country for a maximum period of 90 days. The temporary residence period can be extended upon request by the diplomatic missions and consulates.
  • Diplomatic mission members, consulates, international organizations, and their spouses and children under the age of 18 holding diplomatic passports or official passports (or the name of the child recorded in the parent’s passport) are exempt from visa requirements for a temporary stay of 90 days. However, the entry procedure must be notified in advance through diplomatic channels. Within the 90-day period, these individuals must complete the necessary residence procedures according to the regulations of the host country.
  • Children who are under 18 years old and are members of diplomatic missions or consulates holding ordinary passports are entitled to visa exemption, just like their parents. However, it is important to note that they must have a confirmation note from either the representative agency, diplomatic missions, consular offices, or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of their home country.
