Visa Exemption Agreement Between Vietnam – Mexico

According to the Agreement between the Government of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Federal Government of Mexico on visa exemption for holders of diplomatic and official passports. Agreement signed on December 6, 2001, effective from February 4, 2002:

Have agreed as follows:

ARTICLE 1

  1. Nationals of one Party, holders of diplomatic or official passports, shall be exempted from the visa requirement for entry into, exit from, and transit through the territory of the other Party through the international contact points.
  2. Holders of the passports mentioned in paragraph 1 of this Article shall be permitted to stay in the territory of the other Party for a maximum period of 90 (ninety) days starting on the date of entrance. The other Party may extend the stay period through a written request from the Diplomatic or Consular Mission of the Party whose nationals are holders of the said passports.

ARTICLE 2

  1. Nationals of one Party, holders of diplomatic or official passports ni force, • members of a Diplomatic or Consular Missions located in the territory of the other Party, shall be exempted from the visa requirement for entry into, exit from, and transit through the territory of the other Party and, shall be permitted to stay in that territory during the period of performance of their functions, but they should be accredited before the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the following 30 (thirty) days upon their entry into the country of destiny, to obtain the respective migratory category that, in terms of law personnel for foreign missions shall acquire in the territory of each one of the Parties.
  2. The same privileges shall be applicable to family members of the personnel referred to in paragraph 1 of this Article if they are holders of diplomatic or official passports or if the name of their sons is inscribed in their mother’s or father’s passport.
